CHURCH STATEMENT OF MISSION AND PURPOSE

Calvary Apostolic Church is a family of born-again believers who serve and exalt the Lord Jesus Christ through evangelism, study and obedience of God's Word, active worship, discipleship, consistent prayer, generous giving, personal holiness and compassion for others. Because Jesus commands us to go, we wholeheartedly support world missions, and we actively reach out to our local community.

The Bible:

We believe that the Bible is the infallible Word of God and the final authority for salvation and Christian living.

The Word of God is meant to be read, believed, taught, preached and practiced. Acts 2:41-42.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Gospel:

The saving gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel  by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). Luke 24:47, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4, John 3:3-8, Acts 2:4, 37-39, Romans 6:3-4, 2 Peter 3:9.

Salvation:

We proclaim the essential truth of the new birth experience that was believed and practiced in the first church: faith in Christ, repentance, water baptism in the name of Jesus and the infilling of the Holy Ghost.
John 3:3-8, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 2:37-39.

Evangelize:

The primary task of the church is to take the gospel of salvation to the world. The whole gospel by the whole church to the whole world. Matthew 28:18-20, 2 Corinthians 10:14-16.

Pursue Holiness:

Since we serve a Holy God, our minds, bodies and spirits should reflect His holiness. We are in the world but not of the world. Hebrews 12:14.

Worship God:

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

John 4:24
